Finding The Right Telescope For Sale

Now I have done a lot of research on buying telescopes, and there are many factors that come into play when you are out looking for a nice telescope for sale. For starters, you have to know how much you are willing to spend on the telescope, and you should have a good idea about what it is that you are going to be viewing. Now you can read all the documentation you want on the internet, but the best way to decide what kind of telescope it is that you want to buy, is to start gazing the stars, join an astronomy club, read reviews, and most importantly, make friends with all the telescope geeks that you can.

But for starters, many people will recommend starting off with a good pair of astronomy binoculars. The main reason for this is that they are cheaper than telescopes, and you can get some amazing views from them, once you learn how to pinpoint the objects that are out there in the night sky. For instance if you are on a budget of around $200, then you may want to forget getting a telescope for the time being, and instead invest them in a pair of astronomy binoculars, as you are going to be able to see a lot more in the night sky with a $200 pair of astronomy binoculars compared to a $200 telescope.

Now if you can find someone selling a used telescope for $200, then you may be in luck, depending on how desperate they are to get rid of it. But if you must go out and have your heart set on finding a telescope for sale today, then head the warnings that I have seen in so many other articles that are out there. That is do not buy a telescope because of the power rating, just don’t do it, if you do you are going to be very, if not extremely disappointed in your purchase. Just because it says that it is 500X Power, does not mean that it is a good telescope by any means. It is the Aperture that makes the telescope good.

The aperture is the diameter of the lens in a refractor telescope or the mirror in the reflector telescope. I have already told you the difference between the two telescopes in previous entries so you should be on top of that, if not you can find them by searching the tags on this site.

If you are buying a telescope online, then get as much information about it as you can. If you go to a site such as eBay or Amazon to buy a telescope, sometimes you can find some killer deals, but it is always smart to read the reviews of the telescope before purchasing. Don’t expect to be seeing images like the ones that you see in the Astronomy magazine, unless you are planning on spending some big bucks, like $1500 or more.
