Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes

The Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope is a combination of the refractor and reflector telescopes. Most of them are computerized with there own star tracking system, they are also the most ideal telescope for astrophotography.

The Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope is most often referred to as a “go to” telescope. They are computerized with pre-loaded maps of star charts, so it makes finding a certain star or star field much easier. Most Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes come with a built in camera so they are great for astrophotography.

If you are serious about viewing the night sky and want to snap some amazing photos than go with a Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope. As you may have noticed these types of telescopes can become very high tech, although some of these are simpler thatn others are.

If you are just getting into astronomy, then this may not be the best kind of scope to start off with, you may want to go with a refractor or something cheaper. If you are good at programming and understand how to read star maps, then this is for you as they are great at pin pointing exactly which galaxy, or certain star that you want to view.

As you might have guessed these are not going to be the cheapest telescopes out there, but if you are really serious about star gazing, and taking pictures of the galaxies that are way out there and far away, then this is the best telescope for you. I would not recommend this for beginners though, you might want to learn where some of the stars and other great sites are in our night sky before you spend a fortune on this type of telescope.
